This is a short guide to the following screens of data:

Services

  • For Assessing data - Click on Property and Land Search

  • For Utility Billing Data - Click on Utility Billing Search

  • For Current Tax Data - Click on Tax Information Search

  • After the Tax or Assessing parcel data is presented, you will see the 'View this parcel on a map' message in red on the screen. Click on this message to present the corresponding map of the parcel.

- Special Assessment Information

All Special Assessments appear on the Winter Tax Bill

Click on the + button on the Year/Season screen for the applicable Winter year and the Tax Bill Breakdown data will be presented

Any Special Assessments will appear with a zero Millage Rate, usually at the bottom of the Tax Bill Breakdown data

- Click on General/Sales, Buildings, or Images/Sketches as applicable

For specific payoff information for delinquent Real Property taxes please call the Van Buren Treasurer's Office at 269-657-8228.

Only tax payments made at or mailed to Paw Paw Township will be posted on this website. After February all unpaid real estate taxes are delinquent and payment must be made to the Van Buren County Treasurer. If payments have been made to the Van Buren County Treasurer's Office, record of payment must be verified through that office at 269-657-8228, as they will NOT be updated on our website.

Assessing Information

Ted Gruizenga is the Paw Paw Township Assessor. He is in our office each Wednesday from 9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm. His assistant is here each Friday from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Homeowners Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit - 2368 - with instructions

You must legally own and occupy your home on May 1st of each year to be eligible for the Homeowners Principal Residence Exemption. Additional rules apply when selling your home, under certain conditions. The millage rate for qualifying property is approximately 18 mills less than non-qualifying properties. You must apply for this exemption.
